What is the towing capacity of the 2026 GMC Sierra EV?

The 2026 GMC Sierra EV Elevation and Denali can tow up to 12,500 lbs when properly equipped. The off-road-focused AT4 trim is rated for 10,000 lbs. This puts it on par with, or even above, many gas-powered half-ton trucks.

 

Does the Sierra EV qualify for the Federal Tax Credit?

It depends on the price. The Inflation Reduction Act currently offers up to $7,500 in tax credits for electric trucks with an MSRP under $80,000. The Sierra EV Elevation is expected to qualify. The higher-end Denali trims may exceed the price cap. We recommend consulting with your tax professional for your specific situation.

 

What is CrabWalk and which trims have it?

CrabWalk is a 4-Wheel Steer mode that allows the rear wheels to turn at the same angle as the front wheels. This lets the truck drive diagonally at low speeds, which is perfect for navigating tight trails or parking in tricky spots. It is standard on the AT4 and Denali trims.

 

How big is the frunk (eTrunk)?

The eTrunk (front trunk) offers 11 cubic feet of lockable, weatherproof storage. It has a power-opening hood and includes a 120V outlet. It is large enough to fit two sets of golf clubs or a large cooler, freeing up your cab space.

 

Can I use the Sierra EV to power my house?

Yes. With the Ultium Home V2H (Vehicle-to-Home) enablement kit, the Sierra EV can send power back to your home panel. A fully charged Sierra EV Denali can power a standard home’s essential needs for up to 21 days.

 

Does it have Apple CarPlay or Android Auto?

The 2026 Sierra EV features a new Google Built-In infotainment system. It does not support projection via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. However, it runs native apps like Google Maps, Spotify, and Waze directly on the massive 16.8-inch screen, offering a more integrated and responsive experience.

 

How long does the battery last?

The Ultium battery is designed to last the life of the vehicle. GM backs it with an 8-year/100,000-mile warranty against degradation.

 

Is the Sierra EV 4WD?

Yes, all 2026 Sierra EV models (Elevation, AT4, and Denali) come standard with e4WD. They use dual motors (one front, one rear) to provide instant traction. The system can react to wheel slip in milliseconds, faster than any mechanical 4WD system.
